_account: @brapingu34: intermediate cartridges are not inherently necessary for it to be used in an assault rifle role, it was designed to be operated by one man, firing from the shoulder, to provide full auto cover for an advancing fire team. Literally an assault rifle. And yes, it wasn't very good because of it's length and limited capacity, but still an assault rifle.
